A Grab Sample Describes One Minute of the Day

Manual testing catches a problem after it has already passed through the system. An online analyser measures on a set interval, holds the result against a threshold, and switches a relay before the damage reaches the next stage.

Hardness breakthrough after a softener scales a boiler or fouls an RO membrane. Measuring at the softener outlet raises the alarm while the fix is still cheap.

Inside a Colorimetric Analyser

Every Reading Is a Full Wet-Chemistry Cycle

The DUROMAT® colorimetric range does not estimate from a sensor drift curve. It runs a complete laboratory method on each measurement, then flushes and waits for the next one.

Admit Sample

The inlet solenoid valve opens and sample water enters the measuring chamber.

Wash

The chamber is flushed for a settable time, clearing the previous sample.

Zero Test

Water transparency is checked to establish the optical zero point for this sample.

Dose Reagent

A peristaltic pump meters the indicator into the chamber.

Read & Act

The result displays, drives the 4–20 mA output and switches any relay whose threshold is crossed.

Flush & Wait

A final wash leaves the chamber clean until the next timed, volumetric, manual or external start.

If a reading only just exceeds the maximum, the analyser can repeat the analysis before raising an alarm — so a single anomalous sample does not trip a plant. Intervals are programmable from 3 to 9,999 minutes.

pH compensation for free chlorine

Free chlorine efficacy falls as pH rises. The compensated version reads the pH alongside and corrects the residual figure, so the number on the display reflects the disinfection you actually have.

Seawater and surfactant-resistant probes

Chlorine and chlorine dioxide probes are available in variants that hold up in seawater and in water carrying surfactants — relevant for coastal intakes and wash-down streams.
